WHY CLIMATE CHANGE SUMMIT

This years summit is being held in the United Kingdom in Glasgow and it started on the 31st October and will end on the 12th of November 2021, under the presidency of Alokn Sharma. This conference is also known as the COP26 because it is the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference.

This year the theme is for a Healthy and Ambitious Nationally determined contributions to the Paris Agreement and also focus on climate justice. The Paris agreement on 12th of December 2015 on COP21 it was agreed to combat climate change and to accelerate and intensify the actions and investments needed for a sustainable low carbon future. It aim was to keep carbon emissions below 2 degrees Celsius.
With United States president Joe Biden requesting for a faster solution to cump climate change. Despite this the fulfilment of the climate change has had different challenges as the increased use of fossil fuel such as coal, oil, and gas to generate electricity, run cars. Deforestation, increasingly intensive agriculture, emit of greenhouse gases as mathane, we need to take action by taking care of our climate then it will take care of us.

The COP26 is to urge urgent need to reduce green house gas emission by 80%, this will help reduce the climate change impact such as Damage to homes and property, higher electric bills and more blackouts due to shotage of water to run turbines, rising of taxes also more allergies and health risks as asthma attack, water also suffers due to quality reduction and disruption of travel with this cames the question of how it can be reduced by us people. This is by use of renewable energy reducing water wastage, speaking up, investing in energy efficient appliances and also Emblazing pollution free methods as electric cars to shrink carbon emission from your own house first. There are also natural solutions as reaforestation, plant trees where they are cut down, also the improvement of land management, use of the wind to harness power.

The good news is: we have the solutions. Real, technically feasible, affordable alternatives to fossil fuels exist now.
To keep warming below 1.5˚C, we need to make the switch from fossil fuels to 100% renewable energy and bring our carbon pollution down net zero by 2050. Let's join hands and adapt a free carbon world for not only using but also our future generations who are looking upto us for guidance.
