With eight million deaths of Mental Illness in the world each year. courtesy of NAMI Greenville In Kenya one out of every ten people have mental illness problem and it has increased to one in every four people. So, the possibility of you walking around with a person suffering from depression or anxiety as it being the leading cause of mental illness is high. With that around 1408 people committing suicide each no year in the country of between the ages of 15 to 29 years old. This is the university age gap thus the government should take action. There are more examples of mental illness include eating disorder, addictive behaviors, bipolar and the schizophrenia. Depression mainly affects women more than men, such that the estimation is approximately 264 million people are affected by depression. WORLD IODINE DEFICIENCY DISORDER DAY

On the 21st October every year, the world joins hands to celebrate the iodine deficiency disorder people. The theme of this year is promote nutrition and healthcare for women and children. Prevent materianal child mortality, stunting, fight malnutrition, and disease prevention through vaccine. This disorder is due to health abnormalities of the body resulting from prolonged lack of iodine, due to our bodies not producing iodine. With statistics from the WHO showing that nearly two billion individual shave insufficient iodine intake.Globally15.8% of the population with having 28.3% being from African. Kenya is not left out it has 3.5% of its population having the disorder which is below the WHO value of less than 5%. With this cames some the effects as it may lead to endemic goiter, hypothyroidism, cretinism. Act now make eradication of poverty a reality

Yesterday being on the 17th October, the world joins hands to celebrate the international day for poverty eradication. Article courtesy of  www.cnbc.com The  theme focuses on ending persistent poverty,and by respecting all people and our planet. With this comes the opportunity to acknowledge the effort and struggle of people living in poverty,and an opportunity for them to make their concern heard for a moment and recognize they are their fighting for poverty.This years celebration was the 30th celebration since the UN general assembly declared in 17th October as international day for eradication of poverty. In Kenya the numbers are 43.6% of the Kenyan population is living below poverty line, earning less than 1.09 US dollars per day,that was in 2005. 10 years later in 2015 the poverty rate dropped to 35.6% and thus a downwards trend.
